Responsabilities:
Performs duties related to the section’s functions as secretariat of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC Convention)
Competencies:
Knowledge and understanding of legal framework and approaches relevant to crime and drug control issues. Knowledge of policies and practices in international drug control and crime prevention

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in international law, criminal law, or equivalent, with specialization in international aspects of crime and justice issues.
Experience:
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in drug control activities, crime prevention and criminal justice issues or closely related area.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English, with excellent drafting and communication skills is required.
Others:
Experience in legislative advisory services, technical assistance projects/programmes management and administration, preferably within the UN Common System.
