Responsabilities:
Perform other diagnostic and screening procedures such as spirometry, vision test, ECG and chest x-ray when required; Respond to medical emergencies and perform laboratory diagnostic tests ordered by Medical Officers and Nurses in a timely fashion;

Demonstrated competence in laboratory testing and modern laboratory technology. Commitment to implementing the goal of gender equality by ensuring the equal participation and full involvement of women and men in all aspects of work.

Qualifications:
Education:
Completion of High School diploma or equivalent and Medical Laboratory Technologist diploma are required.
Experience:
Several years of experience as a laboratory technician in a hospital laboratory.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required; knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
Others:
Knowledge of the ECG procedure and spirometry is desirable. Training in the chest x-ray procedure is an asset. Good computer skills including knowledge of standard Microsoft software package (Word, Access and Excel) are required.
