Responsabilities:
, the Medical Officer will be responsible for preparing the medical unit for pandemic public health threat and incorporate this preparation in an “all hazard’ emergency response preparation;
Competencies:
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and hands on experience in all aspects of clinical medicine; Planning and organizing: Ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor own work plan and those under his/her supervision.

Qualifications:
Education:
Doctorate in Medicine required. Knowledge of clinical medicine, preferably emergency medicine training and pandemic/avian flu training, as well as knowledge about mass casuality response. Training in tropical medicine is desirable.
Experience:
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in occupational health, emergency response preparedness (TRIAGE). Experience in tropical medicine desirable.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English or French is required.
Others:
Solid computer skills and good knowledge of relevant medical databases.
