Responsabilities:
Directs, manages and administers security and safety operations at UNHQ, New York and associated properties; maintains an ongoing review of operational plans with modifications as situations, issues and/or incidents dictate;
Competencies:
Demonstrated expertise in security and safety management in international organization context; combined with solid background of military, police or other security specialization; proven ability to develop security plans and conduct security assessments;

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced University degree (Master's Degree or equivalent) preferably in Law Enforcement, Public Administration or related field.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in security management, preferably in a police or military context, which should include command and senior-level staff experience.
Languages:
Fluency in one of the working languages of the UN Secretariat, English or French, (both oral and written) is required; knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
Others:
Knowledge of UN staff rules and regulations is desirable.
