Responsabilities:
Researches and drafts inputs to reports of the Secretary General, the biennial reports on Trends in sustainable development, background papers and other analytical reports;
Competencies:
Analytical capacity to identify, appraise and articulate issues and information from a variety of sources using state-of-the-art methodologies and analytical techniques.

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in economics, public policy, or a related field. A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience in sustainable development
Experience:
At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in policy analysis and research in sustainable development. International working experience would be an asset.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of other official UN languages is desirable.
Others:
Proficiency in computer applications, including familiarity with the use of ArcGIS mapping software and/or STATA or SPSS statistical packages, is desirable.
