Job offer description: City: Geneva Country: SWITZERLAND Responsabilities: Revising translations and original summary records covering a broad range of subjects dealt with by the United Nations. Translating, mostly without revision, texts covering a broad range of subjects dealt with by the United Nations. Competencies: Professionalism: Solid writing and analytical skills; high standards of accuracy, consistency and faithfulness to the spirit, style and nuances of the original text such as to require little or no revision.

Qualifications: Education: Degree from a university or from an institution of equivalent status; must have passed the United Nations competitive examination for English translators. Experience: At least five years of translation and precis-writing experience, preferably including three years within the United Nations and some experience of self-revision. Knowledge of a broad range of subjects dealt with by the United Nations. Languages: A perfect command of English, and an excellent knowledge of at least two other official languages. Others: Knowledge of additional official and/or non official languages. Specialization in subjects dealt with by the United Nations. Knowledge of relevant computer software, including word processing programs.
