The incumbent will provide expert technical advice and support in the area of Communicable Disease Surveillance and Response to SEAR Member countries
Competencies:
Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of communicable disease surveillance, prevention and control. Experience in planning, management, and coordinating international health programmes.

Qualifications:
Education:
Essential: Medical Degree or Doctorate level postgraduate training in Public Health, with specialization in epidemiology and/or communicable disease control.
Desirable: Familiarity with WHO policies and practices.
Experience:
At least seven years' professional experience in the development and management of health programmes; experience in communicable disease surveillance and control, including three years' of international experience.
Languages:
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
Others:
Practical knowledge of WHO surveillance and response strategies. Experience in working with WHO is an advantage.
