Responsabilities:
Formulate the activities to be conducted by the Programme on Space Applications, in line with the mandate of the Programme and overall objectives of the Office, including mobilizing additional resources.
Competencies:
Professionalism: In-depth knowledge of international space programmes and activities; proven capability in organizing workshops and training courses; ability to carry out space-related projects.

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced university degree in space science, technology, or engineering related field of study. Knowledge of space technology and its applications.
Experience:
fteen years relevant experience at the senior supervisory level in space-related engingeering, scientific and technology fields, of which 10 years should preferably have been in an international setting in space applications.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations secretariat. Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of a second official language desirable.
Others:
Ability to identify priority development areas of Member States. Ability to integrate the objectives of the Section and the Office’s strategic direction in to the activities planned under the Programme.
