Responsabilities:
Monitors and prepares reports, and other documentation with regard to activities by the UN agencies and Member States in support of Africa including resource flows, periodic update on the G-8 countries initiatives on governance, peace and security issues.
Competencies:
Professionalism: Knowledge of Security Council Affairs and other intergovernmental bodies relating to Africa. Knowledge of the UN system procedures and inter-governmental and inter-agency processes.

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Political Science, International Relations, Social Science or related area. A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted.
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in policy analysis and policy planning. Experience in the work of OSAA is desirable.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Working knowledge of French is highly desirable.
Others:
Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Access, Powerpoint, Excel, Word and internet applications is desirable.
