Job offer description: City: Geneva Country: SWITZERLAND Responsabilities: Assist governments and other partners, including human rights components in UN peace missions, in identifying and specifying needs for advisory services and technical cooperation. Competencies: Professionalism: Comprehensive knowledge of and exposure to a range of human rights issues, to include approaches and techniques to address sensitive and complex problems; very good knowledge of institutional mandates.

Qualifications: Education: Advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent), preferably in law, political science, international relations or other disciplines related to human rights. Experience: At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in field and headquarters locations at national and international levels in the human rights field, preferably within the UN. Languages: Proficiency in English and French required. Knowledge of other UN official languages is an advantage. Others: Ability to present positions on behalf of OHCHR with authority. Direct knowledge of the structure and functions of DPKO, DPA and other UN Agencies and Programmes and the way in which they operate at country level.
