Responsabilities:
The focus of this job is to lead and direct the development, implementation and evaluation of UNODC programmes and activities of the Afghanistan Country Office.
Competencies:
Professionalism: Knowledge of policies and practices in international drug control and crime prevention, as well as the mandates, major developments and challenges in functional and substantive areas covered by UNODC.

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, economics, international relations, law, political science, public administration.
Experience:
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in drug control activities, crime or terrorism prevention, law enforcement, prosecution, criminal justice, international relations or related area.
Languages:
The working languages of the Secretariat are English and French. For the post advertised, fluency in English, (both oral and written) is required; knowledge of the other United Nations official languages is desirable.
Others:
t/programme management experience in relevant field at the national or international level. Working experience in developing countries an asset. Knowledge of UN rules and regulations. Strong presentation and diplomatic skills.
