Responsabilities:
Plan and coordinate activities related to specific special procedure mandates on economic, social and cultural rights; Conduct research and analysis of human rights issues/events and assess their impact on the human rights situation.
Competencies:
Professionalism: Good knowledge of and exposure to a range of human rights issues, particularly economic, social and cultural rights, to include approaches and techniques to address sensitive problems.

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced University Degree preferably in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or other disciplines related to the relevant human rights mandates
Experience:
At least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience at national and international levels in the human rights or related field. Significant experience of the UN human rights machinery, or in economic, social and cultural rights, will be assets.
Languages:
Proficiency in English or French. Working knowledge of the other and/or Spanish is a considerable asset, and knowledge of another UN official language an advantage.
Others:
Knowledge of the special procedures and their methods of work will be an advantage.
