Responsabilities:
Perform technical support and operational activities, including firmware upgrades, and module level troubleshooting repairing of multi-layer switches, routers, remote access servers, content switches and Ethernet hubs.
Competencies:
Professionalism - Good technical knowledge and capacity to install, maintain routed and switched TCP/IP networks involving LAN, MAN, and WLAN and technologies, and understanding of the protocols used on Cisco routers, switches bridges.

Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Post secondary studies/courses in Computer Science or Telecommunications Engineering highly desirable. A Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional [CCNA or CCNP] certification is highly desirable.
Experience:
Several years of experience in telecommunications networking infrastructure, which includes the Local Area Network (LAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), Wireless LAN (WLAN), implementation and integration of network management tools are required.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
Others:
Familiarity with commercial telecommunications systems and services including analog and digital transmission facility testing and trouble-shooting are desirable.
