Responsabilities:
Identify, formulate, supervise the implementation, monitor, and evaluate assigned programmes/projects in the Pan-European region at the regional, sub-regional, and national level, ensuring coherence with UNEP’s Programme of work.
Competencies:
Professionalism: Strong conceptual skills combined with proven ability to prepare comprehensive documents with respect to key environmental and development issues, addressing a variety of audiences.

Qualifications:
Education:
An advanced university degree in Environmental Sciences, business administration, management, economies or a related field. A first university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
Experience:
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in environmental matters at the international level, project or programme management, administration or related area. Experience in dealing with Governments.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in oral and written English is essential. Working knowledge of another UN language is an asset. Knowledge of Russian language highly desirable.
Others:
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
