Responsabilities:

Revising translations dealing with subjects of an exceptionally sensitive, complex or technical nature.

Competencies:

Professionalism: Excellent writing and analytical skills; highest standards of accuracy, consistency and faithfulness to the spirit, style and nuances of the original text such as to require little or no revision.

Qualifications:

Education:

University degree or equivalent; must have passed the United Nations competitive examination for Arabic translators.

Experience:

At least 10 years of translation and revision experience in a broad range of subjects dealt with by the United Nations, with recognized specialization in areas of particular concern to the Section.

Languages

A perfect command of Arabic and an excellent knowledge of two other official languages. Knowledge of other additional official and/or non-official languages would be an asset.

Others:

Specialization in specific subjects dealt with by the United Nations.
