Job offer description:City: Guatemala CityCountry: GUATEMALA Responsabilities:Leads and coordinates the work of the Office in Guatemala including monitoring and analysing the human rights situation, advisory services, technical cooperation and information and promotion activities.Competencies:Professionalism: Knowledge of and exposure to a range of human rights issues including approaches and techniques to address and advise on highly sensitive and complex problems in their political, ethnic, racial, gender and socio-economic dimensions. |
Qualifications:Education:Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or related field.Experience:A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, political affairs, international relations, law or related area. Prior field experience in an OHCHR, UN operation, regional organization or related operation is desirable.LanguagesFluency in English and Spanish is required; Knowledge of another UN official language is an aasset.Others:Proven diplomatic skills and sound political judgement including when dealing with sensitive situations. |
