Contribute to the formulation of overall policies, procedures, objectives and guidelines for indexing and cataloguing operations. Organize and manage the information contained in the United Nations Bibliographic and Information System (UNBIS).
Competencies:
Professionalism: Excellent knowledge of application of information technology to library operations, including indexing and cataloguing. In-depth knowledge of UN documentation and the work programme of the Organization.

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced university degree (Master's Degree or equivalent) in Library Science, Information Sciences or related field. A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
A minimum of seven years progressively responsible experience in information management functions, including in the area of cataloguing/indexing services required.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in written and spoken English is required; knowledge of additional official UN languages is desirable.
Others:
In-depth knowledge of the international cataloguing rules and standards is required. Solid skills to use integrated library management systems are desirable. Knowledge of enterprise content management is an asset.
