Technical and Substantive Support: Research, analyze and present information relevant for advocacy and reporting activities of the Branch; provide support on the advocacy and monitoring activities related to the Medium Term Strategic.
Competencies:
Professionalism: Demonstrated up-to-date working knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative methods of monitoring and assessment; ability to analyze and synthesize data and information and to draft substantive articles and documents.

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Urban or Regional Planning, Social Science, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Law or related field, with a focus on methods for policy analysis.
Experience:
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in a research environment in urban policy development, institutional analysis, policy analysis and poverty related issues.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the advertised post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of French and/or Spanish will be an advantage.
