Planning, formulation and implementation of substantive activities relating to the ESCAP programme of work concerning Transport Infrastructure, Transport Facilitation and Logistics, and Transport Policy and Development.
Competencies:
Professionalism: Demonstrates professional competence and mastery of technical field of work in general. Ability to produce reports and papers on technical issues and to review and edit the work of others.

Qualifications:
Education:
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law, social sciences or related area.
Experience:
At least 15 years of extensive experience in transport, communications and infrastructure development is required. Experience in policy-making at international level and comprehensive knowledge of socio-economic conditions.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations Language is an advantage.
Others:
Familiarity with standard computer programmes, such as MS Office and web-based applications is required. Familiarity with United Nations regulations, rules, policies and procedures an asset.
